This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of robust and scalable data systems at Haus, powering the core of our product. We're seeking an accomplished engineering leader with deep experience in scalable distributed systems and data workflows to drive our Data Platform team's success.

Your Mission

• Drive Engineering Execution: Lead and manage the Data Platform team, ensuring efficient and high-quality engineering execution.
• Define & Execute Team Vision: Craft, communicate, and execute the team's vision and roadmap in collaboration with the platform Product Manager.
• Strategic Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with core infrastructure, engineering, and science teams to make informed, first-principles decisions.
• Enable Data-Driven Development: Collaborate with scientists and engineers to create user-friendly "paved paths" for data workflows.
• Communicate & Prioritize: Act as a strong communicator, articulating tradeoffs and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery.

What You Bring

• Proven Engineering Management: 5+ years of experience managing engineers building and operating data systems or delivering data-driven products.
• Extensive Software Engineering Experience: 10+ years of overall experience in a software engineering role.
• Data Systems Development Expertise: Demonstrated experience building data systems or data-driven products from the ground up (0 -> 1).
• Strong Execution & Delivery: Excellent execution skills to ensure projects stay on track.
• Technical & Leadership Balance: A healthy balance between technical expertise and leadership skills.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: A bias towards quantitative measurement of progress and performance.
• Team Growth & Mentorship: Demonstrated experience managing and growing engineers, including at the staff level.

• Data Science/ML Workflow Experience: Experience with data science or machine learning workflows in a cloud computing environment.
