The Software Engineer position might be a good fit if you

• Are a Polyglot with Production Experience: You have hands-on production experience with multiple programming languages. While our primary languages are PHP and JavaScript, a willingness and aptitude to work with these on a daily basis is essential.
• Have Scalability in Mind: You possess experience working on large-scale systems, with a focus on making them faster, more scalable, and highly fault-tolerant.
• Understand System Architecture: You have a solid grasp of systems architecture principles and are capable of contributing to architectural discussions.
• Thrive in Collaboration: You are a highly collaborative individual who enjoys participating in code reviews and engaging in thoughtful discussions about system architecture and design.
• Are Passionate About Software Development: You are deeply passionate about and experienced in software development, with advanced PHP knowledge being a significant advantage.
• Value Quality and Testability: You are knowledgeable about design patterns and the importance of testability, and experience with testing frameworks, performance testing, and unit testing is highly valued.
• Think User-First: You are thoughtful about product design and possess strong instincts for creating good user experiences.
• Are Open to Global Collaboration: You are open and able to travel approximately 3-4 weeks per year to meet up with your teammates in person at various locations around the world.

Extra Credit

• WordPress Expertise: Prior WordPress programming experience.
• Community Contributions: Contributions to open-source projects or programs aimed at helping underrepresented individuals enter the tech field.
• Accessibility Focus: Experience working on improving software accessibility.
• JavaScript Familiarity: Existing familiarity with JavaScript.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Data analysis experience and an understanding of how analytics can inform product decisions.
• Tooling and Build Systems: Knowledge of various development tooling and build systems.
