Description

As one of the fastest-growing divisions within Automattic, WordPress VIP presents a unique and exciting opportunity for seasoned Account Executives to play a pivotal role in our next phase of expansion. We are seeking passionate AEs who are deeply enthusiastic about the transformative power of WordPress for our valued enterprise customers.

Your approach is characterized by active listening and a genuine desire to understand the unique needs of prospective clients. You excel at strategically positioning WordPress VIP as the premier Content Management System for the Global 2000. You are not a passive lead recipient; instead, you proactively research the market, identify key opportunities within specific industry verticals, and meticulously craft high-touch and innovative sales strategies. Your efforts will directly contribute to establishing the optimal positioning for WordPress and VIP to secure significant new business.

You will collaborate closely with Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and leverage the full capabilities of our Marketing teams to develop compelling outreach campaigns and engaging content. However, a crucial aspect of this role involves independent lead generation alongside these collaborative efforts.

You recognize the critical importance of enterprise customers and their online presence. You possess a clear vision of how WordPress VIP and the broader Automattic ecosystem can effectively support them in their digital journeys. Building long-term, trust-based relationships and prioritizing the best interests of the customer are core to your professional ethos. You are a natural storyteller, adept at delivering compelling demos and impactful pitches, and you are equally comfortable engaging in strategic conversations with C-level executives, including CMOs and CTOs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Significant Revenue Growth: Achieve substantial revenue growth by successfully acquiring new enterprise clients and strategically expanding existing accounts within your assigned territory and verticals.
  • Establish Strategic C-Level Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong, strategic relationships with C-level executives within target organizations, positioning WordPress VIP as a critical and trusted business partner.
  • Manage Complex Sales Cycles: Successfully navigate and close both transactional deals and complex, large-scale multimillion-dollar opportunities with enterprise clients.
  • Accurate Forecasting and Pipeline Management: Maintain meticulous accuracy in sales forecasts and pipeline information, and proactively contribute to the strategic improvement of forecasting processes.
  • Develop Vertical-Specific Sales Strategies: Develop and execute innovative and targeted sales strategies tailored to specific industry verticals to accelerate market penetration and establish WordPress VIP as a leader.
  • Proactive Pipeline Generation: Actively engage in consistent pipeline generation activities, including regular and effective outbound prospecting initiatives.
  • Enhance Product Offering with Customer Insights: Provide valuable customer feedback and market insights to the Product team, directly influencing the WordPress VIP roadmap and ensuring alignment with enterprise needs.
  • Elevate Brand and Reputation: Enhance the WordPress VIP brand and reputation within the enterprise CMS landscape through impactful engagements, thought leadership, and successful client partnerships.
  • Contribute to Sales Excellence: Contribute to a high-performing and collaborative sales culture by proactively sharing best practices, mentoring team members, and fostering a spirit of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Extensive Enterprise Software Sales Experience: 7+ years of proven experience in enterprise software sales, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in SaaS or Content Management System (CMS)-related technologies.
  • Consistent Quota Achievement: Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed assigned sales quotas and revenue targets.
  • Understanding of Enterprise Ecosystems: Strong understanding of enterprise software landscapes, IT infrastructures, and the complexities of content management systems within large organizations.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively at all levels.
  • Solutions-Based Selling Expertise: Proven experience in employing a solutions-based selling methodology and successfully closing complex, enterprise-level deals.
  • Long-Term Relationship Building: Ability to establish and cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Account and Vertical Management: Experience in effectively managing and growing business within named accounts and specific industry verticals.
  • Executive Engagement and Negotiation: Comfortable and confident working with executive-level prospects, skillfully negotiating terms, and reviewing complex contracts.
  • Self-Motivation and Drive: Highly self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve individual and company revenue and growth targets.
