Description
Circle is looking for a dynamic and engaging Senior Social Media Marketer to join our growing marketing team! In this exciting role, you'll be the driving force behind our social media presence, taking ownership of our social accounts, significantly elevating our organic social strategy, and becoming a key and recognizable face for our brand online! This means you absolutely must love being in front of the camera, possess a great sense of humor (bonus points if you're a little wonderfully weird!), and have a natural talent for connecting with online audiences. We sell to creators who are inherently social-native, so the bar for engaging content is high. We need someone who intuitively speaks the language of TikTok sounds, can effortlessly think in concise 280-character Tweets (yes, they're still Tweets, Elon!), and has a knack for crafting social-first videos that instantly hook viewers. You're likely the first person in your friend group to share new memes and have an uncanny ability to spot viral trends before they become oversaturated—because nobody appreciates a played-out meme.
You should have solid experience with concepting, storyboarding, shooting (primarily on mobile), and editing engaging video content. A strong visual eye is crucial—professional graphic design skills aren't required, but you should be comfortable navigating creative and video editing tools. Writing compelling and authentic copy for social media should be second nature to you—you'll need to be as comfortable crafting engaging words as you are confidently presenting on camera. Bonus points if you already have an established social media following!
What you'll be doing
- As a key and visible face for Circle's social media accounts, you’ll be responsible for writing engaging copy, creatively directing, confidently starring in, and skillfully editing a wide range of content for our brand profiles across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
- You’ll be actively monitoring and engaging in social media conversations across all our channels, fostering a vibrant and interactive community.
- You’ll stay consistently on top of the latest cultural and social media trends, proactively identifying and (quickly) capitalizing on creative opportunities, while always ensuring they align authentically with the Circle brand voice and values.
- You’ll be responsible for managing the social media content calendar to ensure seamless alignment with our broader content and product marketing plans and initiatives.
- You'll be pitching creative concepts and actively contributing to the creation of content for our paid social media team to effectively promote our offerings.
- As Circle’s first dedicated social media champion, you’ll be directly responsible for strategically growing our social media following, building a strong brand presence, and nurturing a highly engaged and loyal audience.
- Lastly, you’ll also be diligently measuring and reporting on the performance of our social media channels to effectively track audience growth, monitor engagement metrics, and proactively suggest data-driven improvements to our overall organic social media strategy.
What you'll need to be successful
- Strong alignment with our core company values—please take a moment to review them on our careers page if you haven’t already.
- A compelling body of work that clearly showcases your content creation skills—including specific on-camera samples (providing links to relevant social media posts and/or your personal or professional accounts in your application is ideal).
- 2+ years of proven professional experience working in-house, ideally within a content, marketing, or brand team, with a strong focus on social media.
- A strong growth-oriented and experimental mindset, with demonstrable past examples of successful social media initiatives to support your claims.
- A clear focus on storytelling through engaging content that effectively builds strong communities and fosters genuine brand love and affinity.
- Well-versed in the necessary tools and technologies required to create compelling social media content (with a strong emphasis on video creation and editing)—we're flexible on the specific tools you use, but you should be proficient in platforms like Figma, Premiere Pro, Descript, or similar.
- Not only a deep understanding of current internet culture (think memes, viral trends, and significant cultural moments), but a genuine passion for all things social media and pop culture.
- Recognizing that no one excels on every single social media platform—please tell us which platforms you are most confident in or genuinely passionate about, and we’ll collaboratively build our strategy around your core skills and interests.
- Must be a strong and proactive internal communicator who can effectively pitch creative and sometimes unconventional ideas all the way up to senior leadership (and successfully gain their buy-in!).
- Strong project management skills are absolutely essential: you’ll be managing a significant amount of content across a variety of platforms, so you’ll need to be highly organized, efficient, and able to prioritize effectively.
- As all of our content is in English, you’ll need to be a native or fluent English speaker and writer with excellent grammar and a strong command of social media language.
Bonus points if
- You’ve previously run social media accounts for a B2B SaaS (Software as a Service) company.
- You have experience growing a YouTube channel, either for a brand or your own personal account.
Note: If you feel strongly that you have what it takes for this role but don’t check 100% of the boxes—that’s okay—we encourage you to apply anyway and highlight what you can bring to the table.
